The former dwellers of the Earth
Translation of the Secret Gnostic Books(Article written by Leandro for the website Hidden History - The former dwellers of the Earth)
For a long time, several books of Christianity have remained in obscurity. By presenting informations that diverged from the orthodox doctrine established by the church, they were considered heretics, and ended up not being included in the official version of the Bible.
Many of those books have been lost in the sands of time, others were destroyed, and it is possible yet that the Vatican still has in its possession part of those works whose contents are of extreme importance for us to understand the emergence of the religion that has today the largest number of followers worldwide.
Unlike the account of the Creation found in Genesis, apocryphal writings tell a complex and fascinating story of the things that were already in existence prior to Creation; and that in this Universe, that came into being afterwards, there's not only one heaven and one god, but many heavens and gods in a hierarchy of conflictive powers. These powers and authorities that were established produced not only the humans, but also many other beings, and races that were assimilated into mankind a long time ago.
There are descriptions of how life began 'in the waters', and a series of catastrophic events of mass destruction that took place, like the flood, which echoes in the traditions of many ancient peoples; and the conflagration, a rain of fire, asphalt, and sulfur, released upon the Earth by the rulers. Could these occurrences have been responsible for the extinction and disappearance of the dinosaurs?
Were it not for the material evidences that can be traced from the narrated events, one could say that these texts are the most amazing work of fiction ever made, given the coherence of the story being reported, and the sophistication of its metaphysical concepts that currently have few or no equivalent.
The forbidden knowledge reappears
With the discovery of the Nag Hammadi Library in Egypt in 1945, thirteen ancient manuscripts containing more than fifty texts brought to light the thoughts that were circulating in gnostic groups from the early Christianity, and that worried the church so much.
What in distant times was a privilege only to the most advanced students in theosophy, now revolutionizes our understanding of one of the most intriguing characters of all history. Who was Jesus? A madman? A messenger? Did he really exist?
One of the apocryphal gospels found at Nag Hammadi is the Gospel of Thomas, and in it we find a rather different version from the biblical Jesus. In the writings, Jesus makes few mentions of sin, is against the church, accuses scholars and scientists of stealing and hiding the keys of wisdom, obstructing the process of salvation, and states that he did not come into the world for peace, but for war.
There is also an impressive turnaround in the legend of Adam and Eve, the tree of knowledge and the fall from Paradise; the relationship between the gods and humanity, eternal realms and the descent of immortal beings to Earth; empires of gods and angels on other planets and their domains in the heavens of chaos. Informations that may sometimes resemble Sumerian and Babylonian legends, like the tablets of the Enuma Elish, or the Epic of Gilgamesh. And if these are only legends, why do distinct civilizations in so different times insist to tell them with such an extraordinary sequence of occurrences and richness of details?
If the truth were in front of you, would you be able to recognize it?
